Aphrodite's Child was a Greek Progressive Rock band formed in 1967, by Vangelis Papathanassiou (keyboards); Demis Rousos (bass guitar and vocals), Loukas Sideras (drums and vocals), and Anargiros Koulouris (guitar). Papathanassiou and Roussos had already been successful in Greece (playing in the bands Formynx and Idols respectively) while they got together with Sideras and Koulouris to form a new band. Their first recording as a band was for George Romanos album In concert and in Studio where they were played on four songs and credited as "Vangelis and his orchestra". In the same year they recorded a two song demo and submitted it to Philips Records. The band began to record their crowning achievement late in 1970: a musical adaptation of the bibical Book of Revelation , entitled 666. Silver Koulouris, having finished his Greek army duty rejoined the band. However, relations between all the band members were not good at the time, and continued to worsen during the album's creation.
Essentially, 666 was Vangelis' concept, created with an outside lyricist, Costas Ferris. The music that Vangelis was creating for 666 was much more psychedelic and progressive rock oriented than anything the band had done before. This did not sit well with the other band members, who wished to continue in the pop direction that had brought them success. Furthermore, Roussos was being groomed for a solo career, and recorded his first solo single "We shall dance" (with Sideras on drums), and his first solo album On the Greek side of my mind, whereas Vangelis recorded the score for L' Apocalypse des Animaux and worked on a single with his girlfriend Vilma Ladopoulou, performing with Koulouris using the pseudonym "Alpha Beta".
By the time the double LP 666 finally came out in late 1971, and having sold over 20 million albums, the band had already split. Both Vangelis and Demis Roussos pursued successful solo careers, Roussos as a pop singer and Vangelis as one of the pioneers in New Age music. Koulouris worked with both on occasion. Loukas Sideras pursued a less successful solo career, releasing an album and the single "Rising Sun" after the break-up.
Great Album !!! [English Lyrics]

Stand Up is the second album by Jethro Tull. Prior to this album, original quitarist Mick Abrahmas had left the band due to musical conflicts with Ian Aderson. Abrahams wanted to stay with the blues-rock sound of This Was, while Anderson wished to branch out into other musical forms. Stand Up represents the first album where Anderson is in full control of the music and lyrics. The album goes in a different direction, introducing influences from Celtic Music, folk and classical music. It reached #1 on the British charts. The album cover, originally a woodcut designed by artist James Grashow, opened up and the band's personnel stood up, similar to a child's pop-up book, linking into the album's title.
Lonesome Crow is the 1972 debut album of the German Rock band Scorpions produced by Conny Plank. This was the only album the band released on which Michael Schenker was a full-time member of the group - he'd leave not long after to join UFO. He would be replaced by Ulrich Jon Roth on later albums. Michael Schenker, however, would make guest appearances on later Scorpions releases.
Great Album !!!
Socrates Drank the Conium band that was active in the early is a Greek Progressive/Blues rock1970's. Their sound was reminiscent of other such bands of the approximate period like the Jimi Hendrix Experience, Led Zeppelin, Cream, Jeff Beck and some of the more progressive, experimental works of Black Sabbath. Their categorization as "progressive" can be attributed mainly to their abundant use of less-than-conventional time signatures. The Group would go through many lineup changes throughout the years, but the two core members have remained: guitarist Yannis Spathas and bassist/singer Antonis Tourkoyorgis. In 1975 Vangelis worked with the Greek rock band Socrates on their third album "Phos". heir cooperation with Vangelis lasts only for this one album, he is credited for producing the album, playing keyboards and percussion and also for composing one of the songs. Before and after this album Socrates made a number of other albums, sometimes under the imaginative name 'Socrates drank the conium'...
The members of The Cure were barely out of their teens when they first started releasing music in the late 1970s. Their first album Three Imaginary Boys and early singles placed them as part of the post-punk and New Wave movements that had sprung up in the wake of the punk rock revolution in the United Kingdom.
Great Album

Welcome to My Nightmare is an album by Alice Cooper, released in 1975. This was Alice Cooper's first solo album (all previous Alice Cooper releases were band efforts). The cover artwork was created by Drew Struzan. Rolling Stones Magazine would later vote it as one of the Top 100 Album Covers Of All Time.[] Welcome to My Nightmare is a concept album. The songs, heard in sequence, form a journey through the nightmares of a man named Steven.
A Halloween favorite and a renowned rock album, Welcome to My Nightmare inspired the Alice Cooper : The Nightmare TV special and a worldwide concert tour in 1975, and the Welcome To My Nightmare concert film in 1976.
Great album , enjoy!

A wonderful album from a great group Eloy.Eloy is a German progressive rock band, whose musical style includes symphonic and space rock, the latter theme being more prevalent on earlier albums. The band took their name from the Eloi, a futuristic race of people in the H.G Wells novel The Time Machine.
Founded in 1969 by guitarist Frank Bornemann, the band has endured several line-up changes, with Bornemann being the only consistent member of the group. In the 1980's, after a series of major splits in the group, Bornemann pursued a more commercial direction. Despite attracting a large following, the band never gained popularity in the United Stages.
However, in later years, former members of the band re-joined, and in 1998 fans delighted in hearing Ocean 2, a return to the classic symphonic progressive genre that the band was so well known for. A sequel to the 1977's original, it is commonly thought among fans that it successfully recaptures the spirit of the band, and is a worthy follow-up to the much beloved classic.
Of the band's numerous records, fans generally consider Inside, Floating, Dawn, ocean, Silent Cries and Mighty Echoes, Planets and Ocean 2 to be the superior albums.
Despite their nationality, the band are not generally considered kraurock due to their sound which has much more in common with English progressive groups such as Pink Floyd and Yes.

Great Album from ex guitarist Scorpions Uli Jon Roth.
This lineup of Omega released ten more albums from 1972 to 1987. Many of these were released both in Hungarian and in English, in the hopes of generating wider interest in their music. However, the contents of the English albums often differed from their Hungarian counterparts, sometimes assembling tracks from several different albums and nearly always changing the song order. Following a few years of inactivity, the band reunited in 1994, with former member Gábor Presser joining them at concerts and contributing several tracks to 1995's Trans And Dance.
Omega has achieved modest international success through releases in multiple languages, and tours in England and Germany in the late 1960s and throughout the 1970s. Their 1669 song "Gyöngyhajú lány" became an international hit, and was later covered by Scorpions on a 1995 live release, with new lyrics and the title "White Dove" (the Hungarian title officially was translated as "Pearls In Her Hair").
Omega’s latest (16th) Hungarian studio release is 2006’s Égi jel ("Celestial Sign"), and their latest English release is 1996’s Transcendent. In spring and summer of 2006, they performed their "EurOmega 2006" tour, including concerts in Hungary, Slovakia, Romania. Further performances are scheduled for October in Berlin and Basel.
